Freshmen Spotlight : Dylan Gayle

Dylan Gayle is a Freshman at Earlham College who calls Kingston, Jamaica home. Dylan’s major is currently undecided, but he has inklings to double major in Peace and Global Studies and Sociology and Anthropology with a minor in Music. Dylan thinks the best part of being a freshman at Earlham is the fact that you can be undecided and take random classes with some idea of what you’re doing, while still having people who support you. He also says that the worst part of being a freshman is trying to fit in academically and socially. Some of Dylan’s hobbies include: hitting the drums and the gym, table tennis, intramural football, his WECI radio show: DRUMS, airing every Tuesdays 10:00 pm – 12:00 am, listening to live music, and watching Arsenal morning, day and night.” A quote Dylan shared was from a famous Bob Marley track titled, “Redemption Song”: “Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds.” Dylan’s advice for other students: “Reach out to the people that love you. There are always going to be people in your corner.”
